Mentoring
The transition to high school is a major event in the life of a young person, and students still need extra support. This transition to may cause emotional stress and discomfort, often times resulting in a decrease in academic achievement and an increasingly difficult social adjustment.
CrossPrep is desgined to put in place a structure where 9-12th graders can get the necessary support to successfully navigate through high school and develop a post-secondary plan of their choice.
The CrossPrep team is trained to help students maintin their focus. We match RUP students with a cross-age student "mentors" with similar interests who can provide guidance, support and friendship.
Our Mentors commit to connecting with their mentees at least once a month via E-mail, Text, or in-person meetings for a minimum of one school year; staying in contact after the commitment term is absolutely encouraged.
